If you ask me, Valentine's Day is basically an excuse to put pink, red, and white M&M's into everything. And honestly, I'm completely fine with that.

These Valentine's M&M Cookies are everything I want in a cookie: thick, soft, chewy, golden around the edges, and just a little gooey in the center. They're packed with chocolate chips and festive Valentine's M&M's, so every bite has plenty of chocolatey goodness.

And can we talk about how chunky these cookies are? They're the kind of cookies that look like they came straight from a bakery window, but you get to make them in your own kitchen. Which means you also get to eat one while they're still warm.

I don't make the rules.

Tips for Perfect Valentine's M&M Cookies

Don't Flatten the Dough

This is important! When you're scooping the dough, keep those scoops tall and chunky. Don't flatten them into neat little balls.

That extra height helps create those thick bakery-style cookies.

Give Them Room

These cookies spread as they bake, so leave about 2 inches between each cookie on the baking sheet.

Don't Overbake

The edges should be golden brown while the centers still look slightly gooey.

They'll continue baking on the hot cookie sheet after you take them out, so resist the urge to leave them in until the center looks completely done.

Add a Few Extra M&M's

Want that bakery-window look? Press a few extra Valentine's M&M's and chocolate chips into the tops of the cookies as soon as they come out of the oven.

It's a tiny step, but it makes them look so much better.

Storage

Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

You can also freeze the baked cookies for up to 3 months.

For the best fresh-baked texture, warm a cookie in the microwave for a few seconds before serving. The chocolate gets melty again and, honestly, it's hard to beat.
