There are some desserts that just feel like summer, and strawberry shortcake is definitely one of them. But I wanted this one to be a little more special than the classic version. Instead of a biscuit-style shortcake, this recipe uses a soft, tender buttermilk shortcake with a hint of vanilla, almond, and lemon. Because we want a simple cake we can throw together quickly and that looks good. Then comes the good stuff: juicy strawberries tossed with a little sugar and lemon ju

Soft, warmly spiced, loaded with pumpkin flavor, and dotted with mini chocolate chips. This is the kind of pumpkin bread that makes your kitchen smell like fall before you've even taken it out of the oven. Pumpkin bread is one of those recipes I come back to every fall. It's simple, cozy, and doesn't need much to be really good. For this version, I wanted a classic pumpkin bread with plenty of warm spices, a soft and tender crumb, and just enough chocolate to make every slice

Soft, buttery, perfectly moist, and full of cozy banana flavor. This is my go-to homemade banana bread when I have a few bananas getting a little too spotty on the counter. There are few things better than the smell of banana bread baking. It makes the whole kitchen smell warm, sweet, and ridiculously cozy. Sour cream keeps it moist, while the extra egg yolks give the cake that beautiful pound-cake richness. And

Banana bread went on a little holiday vacation and came back wearing gingerbread spices. If banana bread and gingerbread had a cozy little baking baby, I imagine it would taste a lot like this. This Banana “Ginger”bread is soft, moist, warmly spiced, and packed with ripe banana flavor, but the molasses and ginger give it that unmistakable gingerbread personality. The best part? You don't need anything fancy. One bowl, a loaf pan, some very ripe bananas, and a few warm spices

I love a good carrot cake, but sometimes I don't want to make a whole layered cake, worry about decorating it perfectly, or use three different cake pans. That's where this Carrot Crumb Cake comes in. It's simple, cozy, and baked right in a 9x9 pan. The cake is packed with freshly shredded carrots, crushed pineapple, Greek yogurt, walnuts, and warm spices. Then we pile on a generous amount of buttery crumb topping and finish everything with a creamy cream cheese glaze. It's a
